Peace and good wishes to the legend that was Gil Scott Heron

I’m devastated to wake up and hear the news that one of our most legendary artists have passed. I had the honour of seeing Gil perform last May alongside Talib Kweli and Gary Bartz. It was a small intimate affair, where Gil regaled the audience with a 20 minute stand up routine, before launching into classics like ‘Living in a Bottle’. He was one of the architects of what became a global movement, and his talent could not be subdued, by life or time. Goodbye to you Gil, we’re going to miss you, but I hope to conjure you back by listening to the music you left behind.
